Honor Gaurd
I am a member of the Patriot_Gaurd_Riders. Two weeks ago I went on my "first" mission for Cpl Matthew Alexander, 21, who died May 6 in Baqubah, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. Cpl Alexander leaves behind a wife and his parents.It was an honor and a heartbreak to stand with 'ol Glory' in tribute to a young life lost for the freedoms I enjoy.
Last week I attended the graduation of a young man I have come to admire. He is the son of my High School best friend. The son is joining the U.S. Marine Corps with plans on making it a career. This young man has grown and matured greatly under the toutaledge of my friend, his wife, friends, family and the church. I am proud of this, soon to be Marine, man. Amazingly, it was only 5 years ago he didn't know his thumb from his big toe. :0
I grew up during the Vietnam era. And just like so many others, this man has chosen to serve his country during a time of war. A time when life is uncertain and death could be near. It's the terrorizing "unknown" of existence.
Another friend of mine sent me the following poem. I publish this poem in honor of ALL the men and women who serve us in the necessary cause of freedom.

Proud To Be White
Proud To Be White
Someone finally said it.
How many are actually paying attention to this?
There are African Americans, Mexican Americans,
Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Native Americans, etc.
And then there are just Americans.
You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.
You Call me "White boy," "Cracker," "Honkey,"
"Whitey," "Caveman" .. And that's OK.
But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger,
Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink ...

If we had WET (White Entertainment Television) ..
We'd be racists.

Wonder who pays for that?
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships
... You know we'd be racists.
There are over 60 openly proclaimed
Black Colleges in the US ,
yet if there were "White colleges" .
THAT would be a racist college.

and posing a threat to society ..

I am proud.

The Proud Marine
SLEEP LAST NIGHT? 
Bed a little lumpy... Toss and turn any..Wish the heat was higher...Maybe the a/c wasn't on...Had to go to the john...Need a drink of water

Yes.. It is like that! Count your blessings, pray for them,
Talk to your Creator
And the next time when ...The other car cuts you off and you must hit the brakes, or you have to park a little further from Walmart than you want to be, or you're served slightly warm food at the restaurant, or you're sitting and cursing the traffic in front of you, or the shower runs out of hot water,
Think of them... Protecting your freedom!
Message from Iraq
The proud warriors of Baker Company wanted to do something to pay tribute to our fallen comrades. So since we are part of the only Marine Infantry Battalion left in Iraq the one way that we could think of doing that is by taking a picture of Baker Company saying the way we feel. It would be awesome if you could find a way to share this with our fellow countrymen. I was wondering if there was any way to get this into your papers to let the world know that "WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN" and are proud to serve our country."
