ONE MORE TIME ! !
Below is a link to a NY Times article about the Taliban raising poppy production to a record again.

We spread "Agent Orange" over Vietnam in order to remove the country's foliage that hid "charlie" and the vast supply lines out of Hanoi, Thailand and Cambodia. Vietnam was literally raped by the poison. A lush green canopy laid barren. What once was harmony of green and olive hues became a cacophony of barren woods and brush looking like ghastly grave yards of muck and mire.If we did this to protect and save lives of our American soldiers in Vietnam why not, then, spray the poppy fields of Afghanistan in an effort to protect all of America from the illicit drug trade invading our country?
What benefit is it to us, our military, the war on terrorism if we allow the poppy fields to be harvested and the money gained from its sale used against our military and our citizen popular in America. It should not matter if it spells ruin for the farmers in Afghanistan. Let them plant and harvest something that benefits the world and their country, not destroy it.
Poison the fields. End the sale of opiates illegally around the world. Let's do the right thing to end the fighting, the illegal drugs and the devastation of our United States.
